Community corpus · recurring imagery

'Shutter sound', 'the instant the shutter fires', 'mechanical feel', 'metallic click' — these appear 47 times in top-liked posts from the past 2 years. The community's core metaphor for itself isn't 'taking photos'. It's 'the moment the shutter fires'.

Past events · visual assets

Three years of annual-meet key art share the same element — a cross-section diagram of a five-blade shutter. But it's never been made physical. A totem spoken of often, never embodied.

Slogans & quotes

The founder's 2019 letter is quoted constantly: 'The moment the shutter fires — that's the world's gift to us.' We judge this line must stay in the pin's narrative — but not engraved on the front (too much). Belongs on the reverse, or on the story card.

The community is highly wary of 'commercialization' — anything reading as 'merch' gets mocked. Conclusion: the pin must feel like a membership token or a medal, not merch. Avoid brand-logo formats. Avoid the words 'limited' / 'numbered edition' — over-used by pop-culture merch.
